The Slippery Menace

How many more must die in the slippery cold porcelain of the household bathtub before we come to our collective senses? This all too common appliance is a proven killer. Slippery bathtubs cause over 200,000 injuries every year. Sadly, children comprise 75% of the fatalities.

Taking a shower in a slippery bathtub is riskier than walking down a flight of stairs.

Your children deserve to be safe, no matter the inconvenience or hardship. They cry out for your protection. Would you deny them?

Don't let the slippery bath tub claim you as its next victim! ...

It is easy to fix a slippery bathtub.

Rubber mats and peel and stick appliqué are an obvious choice the problem with these solutions is that quite often the total surface of the tub is not covered which allows a person to slip in between the applications.

Another problem is that all of these applications lead to the collection of dirt and mildew. This makes these applications less than satisfactory both to the homeowner and to motels and hotels.

In addition to the problems of collecting dirt and mildew, these mats have to be replaced. We have a better solution to minimizing slip and fall accidents in bathtubs.

We have developed chemical process which, when applied to the bottom of the tub, will make the tub extremely slip resistant.

This is a chemical process that will not affect the appearance of the tub and yet when the tub is wet, you will find that slipping is virtually impossible.

The advantage of this process is that it is permanent. It will last a minimum of 3 years and it will not make it more difficult to clean.

In addition to treating slippery bathtubs, we can also treat the tile areas around the tubs to make them slip resistant.

Slip And Fall Accidents And Senior Safety

Statistics

1. The risk of falling increases with age and is greater for women than men.
2. Annually, falls are reported by one-third of all people 65 and older.
3. Two-thirds of those who fall will fall again within six months.
4. Falls are the leading cause of death from injury among people 65 or over.
5. Approximately 9,500 deaths in older Americans are associated with falls each year. The elderly account for seventy-five percent of deaths from falls.
6. More than half of all fatal falls involve people 75 or over, only 4 percent of the total population.

7. Among people 65 to 69, one out of every 200 falls results in a hip fracture, and among those 85 or over, one fall in 10 results in a hip fracture.
8. One-fourth of those who fracture a hip die within six months of the injury.

9. The most profound effect of falling is the loss of independent functioning.

10. Twenty-five percent of those who fracture a hip require life-long nursing care.

11. About 50 percent of the elderly who sustain a fall-related injury will be discharged to a nursing home rather than return home.
12. Most falls do not result in serious injury. However, there is often a psychological impact.

13. Approximately 25 percent of community-dwelling people 75 or over unnecessarily restrict their activities because of fear of falling.
14. The majority of the lifetime cost of injury for people 65 or over can be attributed to falls.

Preventing Falls in the Elderly

Quick Facts...
• The risk of falling increases with age and is greater for women than for men.
• Two-thirds of those who experience a fall will fall again within six months.
• At least one-third of all falls in the elderly involve hazards in the home.

Causes and Prevention
The causes of falls are known as risk factors. Although no single risk factor causes all falls, the greater the number of risk factors to which an individual is exposed, the greater the probability of a fall and the more likely the results of the fall will threaten the person's independence.

Many of these risk factors are preventable. As obvious as it may sound, a lack of knowledge about risk factors and how to prevent them contributes to many falls. Some people believe that falls are a normal part of aging, and as such are not preventable. Lack of knowledge leads to lack of preventive action, resulting in falls.

Factor: Environmental Hazards
At least one-third of all falls in the elderly involve environmental hazards in the home. The most common hazard for falls is slippery floors, showers and bathtubs.

Prevention Tips Bathrooms
• Install grab bars on walls around the tub.
• Add nonskid surface to bathtubs.
• Use nonskid mats or carpet on floor surfaces that may get wet.

Dirty Bathmats are a Thing of the Past!

No longer do you have to rely on mats or appliqués that wear, tear and trap bacteria.

Nor do you have to look for safety with adhesive strips that quickly become unsightly and promise very little in the way of safety should your feet not be planted firmly upon them.

You now have Nev-R-Slip, a simple treatment that once applied delivers an invisible, anti-slip surface (not a coating) that can last up to three years.

"The Next Big Thing is really Small"

The promises of nanotechnology sound great, don't they?

Maybe even unbelievable?

But researchers say that we will achieve these capabilities within the next century. And if nanotechnology is, in fact, realized, it might be the human race's greatest scientific achievement yet, completely changing every aspect of the way we live.

The goal of nanotechnology is to improve our control over how we build things, so that our products can be of the highest quality while causing the lowest environmental impact

We manufacture products for professionals! But we also offer knowledge! If you can't find the product you need, or simply would like to talk to a friend about products --- we are here to help either via E-mail, phone (702)604-8817, or fax (866)855-3441

STOP SLIPPING It’s the Law! Our Anti-Slip Solution Works!

ANTI-SLIP

- This anti-slip effect is achieved from the formation of tiny, cup-shaped structures created on the floor surface.

When walked on these valleys act like thousands of tiny suction cups displacing water and creating an anti-slip effect, from the pressure of the foot.

We can actually change the surface pores of stone flooring surfaces such as concrete, quarry tile, ceramic tile, porcelain and brick, making them effectively "slip/fall resistant" when wet.

NEV-R-SLIP ANTI-SLIP

STOP SLIPPING It’s the Law! Our Anti-Slip Solution Works!

We believe technological innovation and environmental sensitivity must work hand in hand!
It’s the Law! The coefficient of friction is dramatically reduced when an untreated surface is subjected to water or other wetting agents. The CEF of an Anti-Slip treated surface complies with the law.

LEGAL DEFINITIONS OF NEGLIGENCE – Failure to use a reasonable amount of care when such failure results in injury or damage to another. It’s the law, you are required to use reasonable amount of care!

We look forward to hearing from you to discuss your refinishing needs!
